COLUMBUS, OHIO — TechTrek, the trailblazing student-run international science and technology news platform, made waves at the 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Columbus, Ohio, this week. The event, hosted by the Society for Science, brought together over 1,800 young innovators from 80+ countries—and TechTrek seized the moment to forge powerful alliances and expand its global community.
TechTrek Founder and Editor-in-Chief Annabelle Yao led the delegation, engaging in dynamic discussions with STEM luminaries including Dr. George Yancopoulos, Regeneron Co-founder, President and Chief Scientific Officer, alongside executives from Science News and leadership from the Society for Science. These meetings underscored TechTrek’s commitment to fostering collaboration between emerging talent and established pioneers. “The potential to partner with visionaries like Dr. Yancopoulos and institutions like Science News amplifies our mission to democratize access to STEM opportunities,” said Annabelle.
The highlight of the event? Dozens of ISEF 2025 finalists officially joined the TechTrek community, enticed by its promise of youth STEM leadership, professional mentorship, and a collaborative global network. These young visionaries, winners in fields from AI to bioengineering, will now gain exclusive access to TechTrek’s innovation hubs, virtual workshops, and funding pathways.
“Joining TechTrek feels like stepping into a world where my work can truly make an impact,” shared 17-year-old ISEF finalist Priya Mehta, whose solar-powered water purification system won top honors.
As ISEF 2025 concludes, TechTrek reaffirms its dedication to making complicated science and technology accessible to more people, bridging the gap between young innovators and the tools they need to thrive. With plans to launch more school chapters and a global mentorship network later this year, the platform is poised to ignite the next wave of STEM breakthroughs.
